However, with its advanced water filtration technology, excellent build quality and battery life, I am excited to review it.

The Hydrology 9 is a dry herb vaporizer that offers efficiency and innovation. The hydraulic system makes a full and rich vapor that is cool to draw. There is also a patented stirring mechanism that will automatically sift the bud in the chamber for better heat distribution, without disturbing your session.

How Does It Look

The Hydrology 9 offers a unique design to match its functionality. Even though the vaporizer is described as portable, it is on the larger side and stands at 7” tall with a diameter of 1.5”. As, you can see the Hydrology 9 is larger than other portable vaporizers like the Pax 3.

The Hydrology 9 has a futuristic look to it, which sets it apart from other vapes out there. Its water filtration system with the multi-colored LED lights make the Hydrology 9 design one of a kind.

The device is made from glass and alloy and because of its unusual design, the Hydrology 9 has been called the lightsaber vaporizer. The Hydrology 9 creates dense vapor clouds like that of a bong, so if you like the bong experience then this is the perfect vape for you.

Hydrology 9 Features

Air Intake Vents

There are two air vents that are separate from one another that can be adjusted to your own preference. This feature helps to improve the vaping experience and is a unique feature. You are also able to adjust the draw resistance with just a twist of the vent.

Water Filtration System

The water filtration is a true innovation as it allows for unobstructed flow of vapor, which delivers a smooth and cleaner hit. The water filtration system provides a cool vapor, lowers the carcinogen intake and reduces the draw resistance. Also, even though there is water in the unit, it is completely leak resistant.

Built-In Stir Stick

The oven on the Hydrology 9 includes a built-in rotating stirrer, which means your herbs are stirred, so that heat is distributed more evenly.

A small metal hook is attached to the dial in the middle of the oven. Turning the dial while vaping, you will distribute the heat more evenly.

Magnetic Mouthpiece

There is a magnetic mouthpiece, which is a detachable borosilicate mouthpiece that has an anti-leak valve for easy cleaning and comfort.

How the Hydrology 9 Works:

Clicking the button three times will turn the device on and off. Once, the device is powered up the LED will flash green. It takes about a minute for the vape to heat up to its initial temperature that is shown with a blue light.

There are 5 temperature settings that are indicated by their own color LED light. Heating will stop after 2 minutes and the vaporizer has reached its ready temperature that is shown with a green light.

LED Lights:

  • Blue – The lowest heat
  • Yellow
  • Orange
  • Purple
  • Red – The highest heat

Light Shows

There is a slow light show that you can activate by applying pressure to the power button for 3 seconds, whilst the vaporizer is on, but isn’t heating. The fast light cycle is activated by pressing the power button, but whilst the vaporizer is heating.

Battery

The battery level is shown with LED lights and is prompted by holding the button for a few seconds when the vaporizer is off.

The Hydrology 9 is powered by a 2000mAh lithium polymer battery that charges fully in two to three hours and will last about 15 sessions.

Loading the Hydrology 9

It is pretty easy to load the Hydrology 9. You will need to remove the chamber cap, insert your ground herb and replace the cap.

The water chamber is filled by removing the mouthpiece and pouring in water until it is about 70% full. Do not remove the slotted insert and just pour the water inside. Replace the mouthpiece and that’s it.

Vapor Quality

The Hydrology 9 offers an outstanding vapor quality due to the water filtration system and the separate air vents that can be adjusted. Inhaling the vapor is smooth and cool.

The oven temperature is precisely monitored via the microchip in the porcelain chamber.

The Hydrology 9 is an outstanding vaporizer for dry herb and is available at Vape Store South Africa.
